Chair

Chantel Walker is the managing director of a philanthropic organization and CEO of the consulting firm CWISER Ventures. She is a Town Council Member in San Anselmo, California, an experienced executive leader specializing in governance, organizational development, and social equity. Her extensive background spans government, philanthropy, and nonprofits, where she has served as a grantmaker, library executive leader, human resources division head, community development director, and board advisor. She is fluent in Spanish and an accomplished convener and facilitator.
Most recently, Chantel served as Assistant Director of County Library Services at the Marin County Free Library, where she co-created and led the California Libraries Cultivating Racial Equity and Inclusion (CREI) initiative. Previously, she led the County of Marin's Organizational Development and Learning Division and worked in philanthropy at the Miriam and Peter Haas Fund, Marin Community Foundation, and Casey Foundation. She is an American Library Association Spectrum Scholar, a 2024 inductee into the Marin Women's Hall of Fame, and serves as President of the Marin County Library Foundation.
